The National Bulk Tanker Association is the peak national body for the bulk tanker industry.

The NBTA is committed to improving the safety, productivity and sustainability of our sector and delivers on this commitment through the following activities.

Advocacy and representation

We actively engage with regulators and authorities on behalf of our members.

The NBTA has established relationships with the state road authorities, regulators, competent authorities and national organisations including the National Transport Commission, the National Heavy Vehicle Regulator and the Australian Fire Authorities Council (AFAC).  The NBTA engages with regulators and authorities on behalf of our members and serves to:

• Be a proactive voice for our members on key issues for the bulk tanker industry
• Positively influence the development and maintenance of policy, legislation, standards and regulations related to the bulk tanker industry
• Build relationships and reputation through our actions, meetings and event participation
  

Shared learnings, improved outcomes

The NBTA provides a forum for discussion of industry issues and facilitate an exchange of information between members, experts, policy makers, key decision makers.

The NBTA meets on a quarterly basis to discuss issues of common interest with a particular focus on safety, environmental and professional matters as well as land transport reforms and business issues. Our meetings and events serve as a platform for knowledge sharing in an environment that encourages open communication and debate to deliver solutions and improved outcomes. Networking and sharing learnings is a key aspect of NBTA events, allowing you to meet and engage with fellow professionals in the field.

Networking and events

In addition to hosting regular face-to-face and online meetings. The NBTA hosts our major annual event Bulk Tanker Day. Bulk Tanker Day is an initiative of the NBTA and AFAC which provides the opportunity for industry, regulators and leading experts to connect, network and engage with fellow professionals working in and connected with the transportation of bulk liquids and the bulk tanker industry.

Driving change for the better

The NBTA drives changes for the better through a number of initiatives and projects. These initiatives will focus on delivery solutions for our sector and solve our most pressing issues. Initiatives include development of education and awareness content, workshops and improving access and safety.
